What do we teach?
Gems Field follows the National MOE syllabus for English First Language teaching endorsed by the Ministry of Education, NIED -National Institute for Educational Development- while enriching the curriculum. A summary of subjects are as follows:
Core Curriculum Pre-primary – Grades 3
- English language usage, grammar, native context, reading and writing
- Second language, literacy and communication – Native language skills (Oshindonga).
- Mathematics, number sense, operators, patterns, etc
- Environmental studies including hands-on exploration of our environment
- Religious and moral studies, self-care and confidence
- Art and culture, including music, visual, and 3-D
- Physical Education, including shot-put, high-jump, good, old-fashioned team play.

Extra- Curricular Activities
Sports
Through active learning and participation Gems Field promotes physical education at;
Class level, with well structured and well designed playground facilities during lunch breaks,
Educational, guided, structured and fun Physical Education classes as per MOE syllabus,
House sports competitions as well as; Inter-school competitions e.t.c.
Art
We have a robust art program which promotes divers forms of arts such as visual, drama and music.
We encourage learners to engage in art as a form of self expression, as it allows them to tap into their imagination, to create a world of possibilities and transcend physical barriers/limitations.
Cultural Activities
Gems Field takes great pride in taking part in the building of our Nation.
We are curving out our mark by being on the right side of history, as we preserve of some of this great Nation’s cultural diversity. This aspect of the curriculum helps nurture our learners and it is exciting to see them demonstrate great enthusiasm and with great pride take part and grow in:

- A sense of belonging which in turn, translates to security.
Excursions/Tours
We are convinced that the process of learning is multi-facet, involving all our senses, we believe in team building to foster lasting bonds and memories.
To satisfy our learner’s curious minds, our learners are treated to visit some of Namibia’s most fascinating places, to witness some of what they have learned in class come to life;
It is absolutely rewarding to see their facial expressions; one can hear all the pieces fall in place!
